Learning how to pay DEX is not rocket science. It’s actually very easy.
"If a horde of degens is pressuring you because you deployed a trending token, or you are leading a community takeover because the “dev” left, don't panic! You've come to the right place."
When someone implies that you should pay for the DEX, it usually means paying for the Enhanced DEX Screener Token Info package.

You can do this for all tokens deployed on Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, Base, Abstract, NEAR, etc. Pretty much for all blockchains out there.
Learning how to pay for a DEX will always increase your token’s chance of success.
For meme coin traders and degens, this might seem like a do-or-die situation. It makes sense since most are trying to help create momentum and not lose traction.
Once someone hears about a hot new token, chances are they use these tools to find it and trade it.
What do you get?
You are likely looking to get the token info up. This includes an image icon and header, description, website and social media links.
Once done, most of these platforms allow anyone to pay for boost to increase the token's visibility.
Remember, these sites are where most people check for token info and monitor price action.
Why do you need it?
Take into account that if you indeed deploy a promising token, other developers will deploy copies of it, trying to lure new buyers and steal your momentum.
You are buying this to prove legitimacy and credibility among copycats and to demonstrate that you, the “dev” or leader, are actually committed to the project.
As of now, if any token shows any remote signs of success, the community will likely expect the deployer to know how to pay for a DEX.
Once your token listing info is up, your token listing will show everything a trader may need. Including the right contract addresses so buyers make no mistakes, aling with contract audit information to ensure its security.
Once you pay, your chances of bringing more liquidity increase.
If your token does go mainstream, you should consider crypto and NFT marketing services to build further awareness and drive adoption.
Who pays for DEX?
You don't have to control most of the token's supply or be the deployer. There are also no steps to verify ownership.
From the smallest token holder to a non-holder, anyone has access to pay for a DEX.
What are the requirements?
Listing your token address and adding required information
If you just want to add the token info, then it’s just a one-time payment, starting at around $200. You will either have to pay with your credit card or connect your wallet and pay with crypto.
You will log on to one of these platforms, add your token address, description, website, and social links, images: a 1:1 for a logo, and a 1:3 for a header. The rest of the requirements are optional.
PRO TIPS
- If you want to create a nice listing, it's best to have at least a website or a social media account
- Although it’s optional, you can add the link to your locked supply as well. Streamflow is the common platform used to lock your token supply. This best applies to those with a significant supply, most likely the deployer
What are the best platforms?
There are a few players in the space, but nothing like DEX Screener, the preferred token data visualizer chosen by the crypto community and its customers.

Usually, token info is bought early after launch, and for some, it might be steep fees to pay. Therefore, might as well make the investment where most traffic is.
And that’s why DEX Screener is our undisputed top pick.
Just like you can find the best Solana DEX platforms, you can find prominent Ethereum DEXs as well, the list is really infinite.
"Rest assured, that the ones highlighted on this list are the ones folks are referring to. Especially DEX Screener"
HOW TO PAY FOR DEX?
Let’s analyze some of most popular platforms in the space and learn how to pay for DEX:
- DEX Screener
- Dextools
- Geckoterminal
In this guide, we will showcase the DEX Screener flow in detail. These steps are more or less identical across all platforms.
If you know how to pay one DEX, you will have no issues doing it elsewhere.
1. Dex Screener

SERVICES
- Enhanced Token Info: $299 ($499)
- Token Advertising (Token Ad or Banner): from $299
Before you go any further, this is the platform that you are likely looking for. There is a reason it is the market leader and our favorite pick.
With most platforms having almost the same requirements, let’s dive into each step to learn how to pay for a DEX on DEX Screener.
How do you pay for DEX Screener?
Follow these steps:
1. Go to the DEX Screener Marketplace and select Enhanced Token Info
2. Click on Order Now, then fill out the Enhanced Token Info. You need to add the chain, token address, and description

3. Add the links to the website and social media accounts

4. Upload the images for the icon and header

5. Optional - Here, you can add the link to your locked token supply. In the description, you can add more details, such as the duration, number of tokens locked, and the wallets involved

6. Optional - Feel free to add Discord and Telegram to connect buyers to the community and customer support, if available

7. Check out, and done
ADS AND BOOSTS
A strong contender when it comes to delivering transparency on your ad spend.
They are one of the few that actually tell you how many views you will get by advertising.
Let’s check out the rates for both of their ad services: their CPM (cost per 1000 impressions) based token ads, or their duration-based banner ad.

Here's an example of a token ad on DEX Screener. It typically shows within the info column of other tokens.

For the banner ad, rely on the Semrush site traffic data we provided, placing your token at the front of more than 17 million visits per month. The actual placement of the ad is in the carousel banner showcasing the price action of all tokens.
They also sell Boosts as well for anyone to buy. The more boosts you buy, the more you increase the Trending Score, which should ultimately get you more visibility.

2. Dextools

SERVICES
- Token info & social updates: $295 ($699)
- Instant Ads (Inline or Block Banner): from $59/hr
Dextools is also worth mentioning. A tool that I’ve personally used a lot, just because how easy it is to navigate the site.
I like that you can claim a community takeover on the token info. This is particularly helpful when the "dev" ditches the project, and the community becomes the team, rallying behind it independently.

They provide a clean UX, accessibility, and a novel suite of products.
Dextools delivers a suite of tools with more household features than any other platform, attracting both buyers and deployers alike.
They have a nice airdrop feature too. Once your token has their social media links in its token info listing, you can airdrop the tokens to as many people as you like. This is just one of their many cool offerings.
They also have a token burn tool, and their price and new pairs Telegram bots.
ADS AND BOOSTS
Note that you will first have to purchase the token info package before you are eligible for ads.
They offer inline and block banner ads.

Available through a very simple checkout process, where you can secure the times available and complete payment with ease.
Just pick the ad package you want.
Book the time frame. One or multiple hours, and hit checkout.

When it comes to boosts, anyone can pay Nitro, placing you higher on the Token Race standings.

3. Geckoterminal

SERVICES
- Token info & social updates: $0 - $199 ($499)
- Instant Ads (In-line or Block Banners): from $59/hr
- Important: The token info package is required before launching ad campaigns
I have not used this one much, to be honest, but it caught my attention seeing it capture almost the same user traffic as Dextools.
My favorite part about this platform is that you can add your token info for free if you wait a few days, standing out from the rest.

If you are paying for a DEX and gathering all the ingredients for it, you might as well add it to Geckoterminal, it's free.
ADS AND BOOSTS
The token info package is required before launching ad campaigns.

Ad packages for tokens start at $99/month for 5k views, going up to $3500/month for 800k views.
To launch these ads, you will need to open a free Coingecko Ad Manager account and select Geckoterminal instead of Coingecko.

The flow is simple and the pricing is transparent.

What about for more established tokens?
In terms of website traffic volume, both CoinMarketCap and Coingecko are in another universe compared to DEX Screener and others.

These are well-established businesses that were built more than a decade ago. Pioneers when it comes to allowing crypto folks to read accurate data around the world, and continue to grow to this day.
The best part is that you can list your token for free on these sites. The caveat is that the requirements are steep, including volume thresholds that need to be achieved in order to be approved.
"Because they are free, listing larger caps here is a no-brainer."
The downside of the standard, free service is that it takes longer. Processing time can take weeks or months.
If you have urgency, have a bigger budget, and meet the requirements of these two giant platforms, then you should look into their expedited services, which start at around $5,000.
4. CoinMarketCap
SERVICES
- Token listing:
- Standard: Free (weeks/months)
- Fast Track: $5,000+ (24-hour expedited service)
- Website and Mobile app ready
A real crypto OG, launched in 2013.
When it comes to monitoring more established coins and tokens, the large caps, this platform has it all.
From Bitcoin and Ethereum to giant meme tokens like Dogecoin, PEPE, and WIF. You will find all the heavy hitters here.
Just to put things into perspective. In the U.S., CoinMarketCap generates more or less the same volume of website traffic as Coinbase. Too many eyeballs you don't want to miss out on.
If you have a successful and well-established token, listing it here is a must.
Check out their listing criteria. It shows the different types of listings, guidelines, applications forms, and more.
ADVERTISING
They offer Search Bar (Desktop Web) and CDP Right Panel (Desktop Web) placements.

With cheaper CPM rates compared to Coingecko and more organic website traffic, it is safe to say this is the place to advertise.
I am a little disappointed with the self-serve advertising page design. The aesthetic is below what I would expect, compared to Coingecko at least.
5. Coingecko
SERVICES
- Token listing:
- Website and Mobile app ready
Another blockchain veteran, launched in 2014.
In my opinion, the second best after CoinMarketCap.
Not because their platform is inferior by any means, but because they do not host the same amount of traffic as them.
ADVERTISING
Following similar steps to Geckoterminal, you first need to go to the Coingecko Ads Manager.
Here you will have the option to select your token and the ad targeting demographics.

Just choose the package you want, and done.
Final thoughts
We can assume that 8 out of 10 times, when someone is looking for how to pay for DEX, they simply need to pay for the DEX Screener Token Info package.
The idea of this post was to showcase how simple it is to do it, and all the platforms available to pick from.
After paying for the transaction
Once you pay and the transaction goes through, you need to abide by their terms.
Just review everything carefully before checkout.
It might sound obvious, but it is important to know that you can submit a support ticket or email to any of these tools.
If you want a refund because something went wrong on their end, just manage your case and ask for a refund.
What I would do: it's in the details
If I were looking for how to pay a DEX, I would just keep it simple.
At the end of the day, you need to go where the traffic is to gain exposure. That's why, once again, DEX Screener is the top choice.
- Follow the steps shown in this guide for DEX Screener first. The platform covers almost every chain imaginable, and it captures the majority of the market.
- A Geckoterminal token listing is free, so that’s another must. You just need to be a bit patient, since it might take up to 5 days to update.
- Once your token meets the criteria set by CoinMarketCap and Coingecko, add your token there next. Remember, as long as the details check out, you can list it for free.
Even though I love Dextool’s design, I do not understand why they charge almost the same amount as DEX Screener, pulling less than 20% of its traffic. It would be awesome to see them offer competitive pricing and allow users to save some money.
When it comes to advertising
I personally see more value in testing banner ads, because it ensures that almost all visits get to see it.
Whereas to see the other ad placement, the visitor requires more clicks. Placements are not guaranteed, and it is not entirely clear to me where else they will be showing up anyway.
Ask yourself, who is your audience? The banner might be better suited to capture a broad audience. While column placements are probably best to attract a specific user persona, like those who actually look into the details of each token, for example.
"If you are taking your token seriously, congratulations! We need more people like you. I hope this guide was well-received and taught you how to pay for DEX with ease."
Looking forward to seeing your token trending in the top charts soon.
See you in the trenches.
